How to prepare a DOCX template for batch mail merge

Document goal

A clean template avoids failures when you generate 20, 100, or 500 documents in one run.

Base checklist

• Keep one placeholder style per template: `«name»`, `<<name>>`, or `[name]`.
• Avoid nested tables and complex floating text boxes.
• Keep margins and line breaks consistent.

If placeholders are not detected automatically

• In Configuration, use the **Manual delimiter (fallback)** block.
• Set `Start` and `End` with 1 or 2 characters (for example `{` and `}`).
• If no detected fields appear, generation is still allowed with a warning, but review output before using the final batch.

Before running

Test with 3 real rows and verify the output filename pattern is clear for bulk downloads.
